Days after the news broke that US president, Donald Trump may introduce a travel ban on Nigeria and six other countries, the president has reacted to the news.
The spokesman for the president, Garba Shehu has said the news is still speculative and as such does not merit any action or reaction from the Federal Government until it has been confirmed to be true.
Reports in US media indicates that besides Nigeria, other countries likely to face the same ban include; Belarus, Myanmar, Sudan, Eritrea, Tanzania and Kyrgyzstan.
He said: “We are not going to react to speculations. We urge you to wait for us to see what unfolds under the new policy, its scope, its reach, the implications and its consequences before we react.”
This comes as various groups in the country have reacted in various ways to the news with some accusing the activities of herdsmen for being behind the likely ban.
